Universal Studios Hollywood maintains an extensive portfolio of websites showcasing the full scope of their California theme park attractions. Updates are required regularly. Design played a central role with changes in ongoing ticket and marketing strategy, branding, seasonal promos, and new park attractions. The following are snapshots of various USH projects completed over several different project iterations.
-
Main Site
The core Universal Studios Hollywood site is an ever-evolving platform, shaped by ongoing visual redesigns to support new functionality, promotional campaigns, and shifting marketing strategies. Park attractions are often completely rebranded, requiring site adaptation to showcase these new experiences. Vacation packaging and e-commerce are regularly refined to keep pace with changing business goals and advancing technology.
- USH Microsites
Several small-scale sites targeting a very specialized niche group of visitors. Audiences included California residents, employees, and veterans. Other microsites included those for annual pass members, travel agency affiliates, and the "Discover A Star" foundation (USH's charity foundation).
- USH E-Commerce & Checkout Flows
Online ticketing and checkout process, aligned with ongoing marketing strategies, new ticket types, and guest behavior insights. Flows beginning with the shopping cart and extending through ticket selection, upsell opportunities, delivery options, and billing/review. Promotional overlays and upgrade prompts designed to encourage smoother transactions, improve overall user experience, and surface relevant offers at just the right moment—without interrupting the flow or overwhelming the user.
