The Sci Fi Channel Game Center The Sci Fi Channel Game Center was a sister-site of scifi.com that hosted an online collection of word, puzzle, card, and action games where players could create profiles and challenge other users.
When the Game Center first launched, the content and narrative themes were generic "out of the box" games. They were unassociated with the Sci Fi Network and inconsistent with the science fiction genre players expected.
The solution was using popular Sci Fi shows and characters as reskin material for existing assets. The original ActionScript remained unaltered to keep development costs down, so these new narrative themes needed to operate logically within the functional context of the preexisting games.
The result was a fully-branded Sci Fi channel gaming experience. TV show content incorporated seamlessly into gaming situations that were both feasible and entertaining for online players. Fan-favorite shows and popular characters were at the forefront. The site was now undeniably Sci Fi.
Game reskins for Sci Fi UK were also completed. The Sci Fi Channel has since rebranded and is now known as SYFY.
